The Pope in Benin

The Vatican Press Office published today the program of Benedict XVI's apostolic visit to Benin in November.

The Pope will depart Nov. 18 from Fiumicino to Cotonou, where, after the welcoming ceremony, he will visit the cathedral and make a speech. The following day, after meetings with political and religious authorities, Benedict XVI will go to Ouidah, to visit the tomb of Cardinal Gantin and to sign a post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation. Back to Cotonou, he will visit the foyer of the Charity Missionaries, he weel meet the children and, then, the Benin bishops. Sunday, November 20, 9:30 am, Benedict XVI will celebrate Mass in the "Stade de l'amitié" of Cotonou. In the afternoon he will leave again for Rome.
