Ten new wells
Ten new wells have been built this year by the GMM, in cooperation with the Parakou Caritas, to guarantee drinkable water to the inhabitants of ten villages in northern Benin.
The wells have been co-financed by the Region Trentino-Alto Adige and by the donations of the GMM benefactors. The new wells are in: Goua Bansou (800 inhabitants), Soui (600 inhabitants), Yolé (600 inhabitants), Campement Tchatchou (250 inhabitants), Banigouré (1.550 inhabitants), Campement Boko (500 inhabitants), Parakou (1.000 inhabitants), Kanto (270 inhabitants), Bembereke (500 inhabitants), Keniou Kpanou (800 inhabitants).
In 2012 ten more wells and two water towers will be built in Atakora region (northern Benin) in cooperation wit the Natitingou diocese. The co-financing of the Region Trentino Alto Adige has been asked for these projects too.
