Passing of the Torch
Alpidio Balbo passes the torch to Roberto Vivarelli. The Bolzano Rai journalist is the new president of the Missionary Group Merano, while the organization's assembly named its founder honorary president by acclamation.
Balbo communicated his being willing to leave the presidency during the annual members assembly for the new executive election, Saturday the 26th of March in Merano. “I made this choice – he explained – because I am convinced that the GMM needs those fresh energies my age doesn't allow to provide any more”.
The Missionary Group Merano's founder declared anyway that “this doesn't mean I intend to retire”. Balbo, who will remain part of the executive as the honorary president, according to the assembly's will, will keep up the missionary engagement by devoting himself to promoting activities of the GMM.
Short after its election, the new executive elected the president. Roberto Vivarelli was unanimously chosen, while Giovanni Rizzi was confirmed as vice president. Among those who are part of the executive there are Carmen Crosina Balbo, Rita Rizzi, Marco Deriu, Cristina Bortolotti, Franco Fasoli, Roberto Andriolo and Daniele Seppi. Franco Dorigoni was confirmed president of the accountancy staff.
