Mission Day
"As the Father has sent me, so I send you": it's the theme of the Benedict XVI's message on the occasion of World Mission Day 2011, which will be held Sunday, October 23.
The Pope highlights that bringing to everyone the announcement of the Gospel is the most precious service that the Church can render to the humanity. He adds that solidarity (that is, to contribute to the quality of life of the poorest countries) is part of evangelization too.
